Hi Dave,
I suggest you stick to English, there are plenty of people having a decent command of English. Google Translate is either funny or misleading. I hope that the folks around here can help and likewise I bet that some would be happy to get your advise when it comes to travelling to the US.

Thanks for the welcome... I realize Google translate is still pretty bad, though it does generally allow me to understand the basics of a discussion thread for European languages (forget about Chinese or Japanese). I've already gotten the name of the person who made the parts which is great.

Southern California has some of the best riding in the US... though for me it's nearly as far away as Germany is (6 hour vs. 8 hour flight). I've been to the West Coast of the US several times on motorcycles (it's roughly a week to get out there at 700-800 kms/day).
